Background
Due to increasing demand from the online retailers and sell-side and buy-side clients, we have extended the Night-time session until 6:00am JST of the following day. The extened hours will overlap with the Index Futures and Options night session, as well as with both the European and US market hours to provide greater investment opportunities for investors.
The extension of the Night-time session is effective from August 14, 2023.

The "end of trading" event will be at 30:00 (06:00 of following morning) instead of at 23:59.
The System will go down and all sessions will be disconnected at 06:30 instead of at 00:30.
End-of-Day files will be delivered by 07:00 (no change)

There are no protocol changes, but we have published updated ITCH and OUCH specifications with the following important clarifications.
ITCH protocol: The "Timestamp - Seconds" message reports the total number of seconds elapsed since midnight of the session start date. The number continuously increases during the session and continues to do so even after the calendar date rolls over.
This is different than how timestamps are reported on the OUCH protocol.
OUCH protocol: The "Timestamp" message reports the total number of nanoseconds elapsed since midnight of the current calendar date. The number does not continuously increase during the session, and goes back after the calendar date rolls over.
This is different than how timestamps are reported on the ITCH protocol.
